Traveling Tips: Save a dime or even few dollars

Get in for free to events: Formula 1, concerts, festivals....

Every traveler have an interest on seeing either music festival, sport events, workshops, food and wine festivals and yes you can do it even when you are a budget traveler.

I've been so far to a Music festival in NZ, Luminate, Food and wine festival in Australia and Melbourne Formula 1 for free or reduced price and I'm planing to be in many many other festivals. The trick is to plan ahead or assert and persevere and try your luck when you are there. Make it happen.

Tips #1: Plan in advance
When you start planning your trip look at what you want to see where you're going and see if you can apply to volunteer. All events are run by volunteers, plan ahead and apply in advance. Some of the events you need to apply months and months ahead so as soon as you think about going to a country go ahead and look of what can be seen. or the opposite, look for an event you want to go to and apply to volunteer, that might motivate you even more to traveler :)

Tips #2: Don't be afraid to ask
If you miss the opportunity of applying to volunteering on time and you really want to see the event, you still get a chance. I bought my ticket to Luminate but when I got there I asked the coordinator if they need any volunteer and sure enough I was welcomed to help, hence I got my money back and covered my food expenses while I'm there and of course enjoyed all the shows and the workshops during the 8 days of the festival for free. So don't be afraid to ask.

Tips #3: put a smile on your face it helps
Formula 1, didn't plan in advance and it's a big event nothing can be arranged last minute to volunteer, not Luminate :( I decided to go anyway, one of those event that should not be missed. I went ahead to buy the ticket. Had chat with the cashier and next thing you know, me and my friend got a half price tickets. So put on a smile on your face and don't be afraid to ask.

As a traveler you don't want to pay for any extra so plan ahead, volunteer, don't be afraid to ask and put a smile on your face, it WORKS :)

enjoy your traveling while saving money
